For the second painting in my Eastern Iowa: Balltown Series, I created a view that I loved when I was a kid.  As I rode the bus to school, I was always amazed by the fog and how it made clouds above the river.  How it could be thick in one spot, but allow a farm to pop out and be highlighted by the sun in another.  “Fog on The Ridge” is an old farmstead that is emerging from the fog in the valley below one of the overlooks on Ridge Road in Balltown, Iowa.
