The fifth painting in my Eastern Iowa: Balltown Series features a train running along the Mississippi river and the Platteville M. You can actually see all the way to Platteville, Wisconsin from Balltown, Iowa! Trains regularly are seen from a distance as they run on the tracks that are on the Wisconsin side of the river. The breathtaking view that inspired “From Balltown to Platteville” can be found just before you get to the Balltown sign as you drive up the hill into Balltown, Iowa!
