For the first painting in my Eastern Iowa: Balltown Series, I wanted to create one of the views that I love to see.  The sun comes up over the rolling hills, fields and small farms. Its brilliant beauty is bringing the world to life and shining down on us.

There are many tourists that come from around the country to see the views from Ridge Road in Balltown, Iowa.  On clear days, you can see for miles - well into Wisconsin.  This Iowa landscape painting features an old farmstead that sits in the valley below one of the overlooks on Ridge Road.
