Nestled in the heart of the Driftless Region, the Scenic Art Loop is a
one-of-a-kind, self-guided art tour
that takes you through breathtaking landscapes across three states (Iowa, Wisconsin, & Illinois) along the Mississippi River.
Imagine winding through rolling hills, limestone bluffs, and charming small towns while stopping to visit artists in their studios - seeing their work in progress, hearing their stories, and maybe even finding a new piece of art to take home.

The Monthly Art Drive – A Must Do Experience!
If you want to experience the Scenic Art Loop at its liveliest, join us for the Monthly Art Drive, held the first weekend of every month. This is when artists announce their open studio hours, giving you the perfect opportunity to meet creatives in person, see where the magic happens, and shop for unique, locally made art. It’s like a mini art festival spread out over miles of stunning Driftless landscapes!

My Connection to the Scenic Art Loop
For me, being part of this group has been an incredible journey. My art is deeply inspired by the beauty of the Midwest—the endless skies, golden fields, wildflowers in bloom, and those peaceful, tucked-away places that feel like hidden treasures. The Scenic Art Loop celebrates all of that and more.
‘Waupeton Road Sunrise’ is based on a countryside view in Balltown, Iowa.
Now, seeing my painting, ‘Waupeton Road Sunrise’ featured on the cover of the new map and brochure feels like a full-circle moment.
It’s an honor to represent this community and to help invite more people to discover the magic of the Driftless Region through art.
