The Ridge
This is the first painting I created in the Eastern Iowa: Balltown Series, and it's one of my favorite views in the world – Ridge Road in Balltown, Iowa.
In the summer, tourists come from around the world to see the sun coming up over the hills, fields, and small farms as depicted here. On clear days, you can see for miles … well into Wisconsin!
'The Ridge' features an old farmstead that sits in the valley below one of the overlooks on Ridge Road.
