I absolutely love spotting old windmills like this one as I drive through the Driftless Area of Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
In my modern, busy, and often fast-paced world, these windmills seem to come up out of nowhere, and right when I need them most, as a reminder to slow down and tread gently. I have time for everything, and there is so much beauty in front of me right now that I don’t want to miss.
'Gone With The Wind' was inspired by the timeless and sturdy old windmills that still stand in the Driftless Area.
