Pickin’ Wildflowers
The fourth painting in the Eastern Iowa: Balltown Series was inspired by a hike that I took with my aunt, her friend, and my kids.
The kids were busy 'pickin’ wildflowers' to put in vases and give to family members. The adults were busy taking in the beauty around us – the wildflowers blooming, the hilly Iowa farmland leading to the Mississippi River, and the never-ending, gorgeous sky.
'Pickin’ Wildflowers' is based on a hilltop view on the south side of Balltown Road, looking north, just outside Lower Balltown, Iowa.
