This birch tree immediately grabbed my attention when I saw it while walking above the Mississippi River in Eagle Point Park.
High above the water, it grows right out of the bluff rock as it overlooks the river and landscape below. How did it get here? Sometimes I meander past slowly, watching the river traffic below. Other times I keep walking and smile as I ponder how this feisty tree managed to grow in such an unusual spot in the first place.
