Hole in the Sky

An inspiring Iowa sunrise. If you don’t wake up early on summer mornings, you don’t know what you are missing!  The calmness, the peaceful quiet while the craziness of the world is at rest and the birds are chirping.

“Hole in the Sky” comes from a Minnesotan Indian term that a good friend referenced when she first saw this painting. “Bugonaygeshig” means hole or opening in the sky or day. Even though the painting was captured near Wadena, in northeast Iowa, I felt Bugonaygeshig fit it perfectly!

Original painting size is 24” high x 48” wide.
